Spring Cleaning Checklist
The season of clean is here. Follow our tips for a fast and thorough floor-to-ceiling refresh.

“Ready, set, clean!” is our favorite motto for spring. There’s something deeply satisfying about washing floors, refreshing linens, cleaning nooks and crannies, and sanitizing frequently used surfaces. But such a thorough cleaning takes planning, and the right tools. To help you tackle your home systematically, we’re sharing our spring cleaning checklist, complete with a few favorite cleaning tools and tips.
Living Room

Pro tip: Tackle high and low living room messes with a vacuum that features an extension wand. The BISSELL® CleanView® Swivel Rewind Pet Reach Upright Vacuum has a powerful vacuum foot and a reach-increasing Quick-Release Extension Wand so – with the push of a button – you can quickly clean up dirt from floors, dust from drapes, and pet fur from chairs and couches.
- Dust surfaces and furniture
- Vacuum upholstery and carpets
- Clean windows and window treatments
- Organize tables and shelves
Kitchen
Pro tip: Set realistic goals. Some rooms – like the kitchen – take more effort to clean, so you may want to tackle a few tasks each day. You can also look for ways to create efficiencies, such as using a CrossWave® wet dry vac to vacuum and mop at the same time.
- Sanitize countertops and backsplash
Deep clean appliances
- Organize pantry and cabinets
- Clean floors

Bathroom

Pro tip: The Steam Shot™ OmniReach™ Handheld Steam Cleaner & Sanitizer is our biggest bathroom cleaning hack. With 10 included attachments and tools, this handheld device allows you to scrub, scrape, and spray sanitizing steam along grout lines, onto mirrors, and over any sealed hard surface.
- Scrub tiles and grout
- Clean mirrors and fixtures
- Empty and clean cabinets
- Disinfect toilet and sink
Bedrooms

Pro tip: Declutter as you clean. There are lots of different methods for deciding what stuff you can do without. Whichever you subscribe to, the end result is the same: by donating or discarding items you no longer want you’ll free up space and have less to clean.
- Wash bedding and curtains
- Rotate and vacuum mattresses
- Organize drawers and closets
- Dust nightstands and dressers
- Clean lamps and light fixtures
Dining Room

Pro tip: If you don’t have a carpet cleaner for messes such as spaghetti sauce on carpet or grease stain on a chair cushion use a formula you can spray or pour onto a stain. Woolite® INSTAclean® Pet Stain Remover is an oxy-powered formula that comes with a built-in scrub brush.
- Dust and polish furniture
- Clean upholstered chair and bench seats
- Deep clean carpet stains
- Wash or change-out linens

Home Office
- Sort and file documents
- Wipe down electronics
- Clean desk and chair
Pro tip: Keep supplies handy. If you work from home, a majority of messes may happen in your home office. From coffee spills to a dusty monitor and crumbs, keep cleaning wipes and a hand vac nearby. The AeroSlim™ Cordless Handheld Vacuum comes with a 2-in-1 Crevice Tool & Dusting Brush.
